Black Boys Code is the largest organization in Canada dedicated solely to empowering Black youth with digital literacy skills to become tomorrow’s leaders in tech. Dr. K had an early introduction to Naturopathic Medicine by her Mom, and found that the treatments and time spent with the Naturopathic Doctor created a safe, open and healing experience unlike any other.  She studied Kinesiology Pre-Health with a Co-op option at the University of Waterloo. She went on to study Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) and graduated in 2015. The CCNM Sports Medicine shift provided her with the additional experience she needed to launch her practice in Naturopathic Sports Medicine.

Shifting Perspectives is an Anti-Racism Education Program that takes a unique approach to anti-racism training, which is more effective than traditional diversity training. Christina Lord, Jen Slay and Rumina Morris have completed diversity, equity and inclusion work in the corporate, not-for-profit and human services sectors for over two decades. This remarkable initiative is steadfast in its support for low-income, racialized, and marginalized communities living with diabetes. Mystery Furtado is a dedicated founder and entrepreneur who shares a two-part mission that envisions improving the diabetic reality in both Canada and Belize. Their role is to ensure Black Canadians and minority groups are not only given access to but are also equipped with adequate resources to manage better and prevent diabetes, and act as the catalyst for change as we seek to alleviate the disparity that minority groups experience when living with this chronic disease.
