Initiatives

The Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion has undertaken several initiatives to assist in reaching Western University’s goals of prioritizing inclusivity on campus. The current initiatives the office has moved forward with are the EDID Working Group, Black and Indigenous Scholarships, and the Scarborough Charter.

Western EDID Working Group

Western created the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, (EDI), Advisory Council in March 2021 as part of its commitment in response to the final report of the Anti-Racism Working Group (ARWG), struck in 2019, which made a series of recommendations accepted by Western in 2020.

Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Decolonization (EDID) Champions

EDID Champions are allies who play a crucial role in shaping the organization's culture and ensuring that it is a place where all students and employees feel valued, respected, and included. By championing equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization, EDID Champions will contribute to more welcoming and innovative spaces.
